Hi this is Megan from Beadaholique.com and today I'm going to show you how to bead weave a tila bead bracelet with kind of a lacy looking stitch that combines ladder stitch and right angle weave and the materials that you'll need are two tubes of miyuki tila beads and one tube miyuki delica size 11/0 seed beads and some wildfire bead weaving thread in .006 inch size and I'm using white because it matches my beads it also comes in a couple other colors to match your beads and we're also going to need a strand reducer two strand reducers a clasp, I'm using the toggle clasp and a couple of jump rings to attach your findings and the tools that we're going to use are size twelve beading needle a pair of scissors and you can also use a thread zap to cut your thread close your work It's one of my favorite tools so we're going to be again by cutting a length of wildfire and you're gonna need to use more than one thread as you work you'll run out you'll need to tie of and start a new thread so go ahead and just to use a length that is as long as you feel comfortable working with. I usually don't like to use more than about six feet at a time and then since you are using a very small eyed beading needle you might need to run here wildfire between your thumb nail and the pad of your index finger a few times so that it will fit through the easier so go ahead and pull your thread through the needle you want to leave a tail on one side longer than the other to start the weaving for the bracelet you need to string one tila bead and then a seed bead and then alternate back and forth between tila beads and seed beads until you have five tilas with the seed bead between each of them go ahead and pull back down making sure that you leave about a six inch tail at the end of your thread then you're going to pick up three more seed beads and you're gonna pull your needle back through the other hole of the last tila bead and you pull it tight leave a loop at the end of the tila bead then you're going to go back through the other holes of all your tila beads putting one seed bead between each tila bead pick up the seed bead go through the second row of the next tila another seed bead go through the next tila if it gets tangled up just make sure that you get it untwisted before you pull tight and once you get back through all five tilas then pick up three more seed beads manning go back through that whole row and pull it tight and if you lost the tail end you can just pull it back so that should be what your first row looks like and that is basically like a ladder stitch then we're going to do the right angle weave portion of the stitch and you're going to come through the next two seed beads at the end of that loop and then pick up three more seed beads and go back through the last seed bead next next to the tila through the tila and through the following seed bead pull that tight make a little square four beads your going to repeat that for all of to seed beads between the tila beads on that side grab three more beads and go back through the seed bead through the tila and up to the next seed bead continue along until you get to the end and at the end I want to come through the last tila out through the seed bead right next to it as well and you want to go ahead and add the right angle portion to the last seed bead here as well if you can get it through there then you're gonna flip it over and bring your needle up through the next two seed beads and then you're gonna pick up tila bead and then you're going to go through the top of this little group of four beads here you can see when you pull it tight that the edge of that tila bead is going to set right inside those corners you continue to pick up the tila bead go through the top bead of that cluster all the way across until you've added five tila beads then when you get all five on you're going to flip it over and pick up two seed beads and then you're gonna go back down through the whole of the tila and add a seed bead between each tila bead as you go through the other row of holes in the tila beads then you'll add two more seed beads and you're gonna go back down through this last seed bead next to the holes on the other side of the tila and then you go all the way back down through that row of beads to start the next row flip it over go through the other two seed beads on that loop and then you're gonna go ahead and keep adding rows of the right angle weave seed beads followed by filling in the rows of beads and you're gonna work until your bracelet is long enough to fit around your wrist to make sure you leave space for your strand reducers and your toggle clasp so you wanna make it about an inch shorter then the finished length that you want and as you work when you run out of thread you'll need to tie off and weave in your threads and start new thread and we do you have an instructional video on how to do that if you'd need to know how to do that otherwise going to go ahead and just work this, I'm working for about six inches long you can make it just as long as you need it to be Once you get your bracelet woven as long as you want it to be long enough to reach comfortably around your wrist with a little bit of extra room for your toggle clasp that's gonna add about an inch to it so make sure you leave room for that to attach a clasp is when you come out of your last row of stitching normally you'd go back up through these beads and start more of the right angle weave sections what we're gonna do instead is go through your last seed beads and then go through the tila beads but not that seed bead there put up one seed bead and then bring your needle through one of the loops in the strand reducer and you want to use a strand reducer that has one fewer loops then number tila beads that you have so I used five tila beads across and using a four strand reducer if you use three you'd want two strand reducer and so on then you're gonna pick up one more seed bead then you're gonna take a needle back down into the row of the bracelet right where you came out continuing on to the left so through that seed bead and then you're gonna go through the next tila bead and the next seed bead pull that tight and grab another seed bead good down through the next loop in the strand reducer pick up another seed bead Again you're gonna put your needle back into the row where you came out going the other or continuing on in the same direction to the left and you come out just after the tila bead before the seed bead As you work across make sure that you keep you thread nice and tight just repeat that process. Pickup a seed bead go through the next loop one more seed bead go through the tila bead and then down also through the seed bead grab a seed bead go through the last loop on the strand reducer grab another seed bead and then you're going to come back through your bracelet through the very last tila bead and pull it tight this is going to give your one single loop to attach your clasp to so what you do from that point is go ahead and tie off your thread and weave the ends in which you can see another instructional video we have about tying off and beginning new thread in bead weaving once you've attached your strand reducer you're going to attach one-half of a toggle clasp you'll just need to use a jump ring and some chain nose pliers I also like to use bent chain nose to hold the other side in place when I'm working with jump rings so grab your jump ring make sure it's open if it's not you can just bend it open then place one half of your toggle clasp on the jump ring and then place the loop and the strand reducer on the jump ring and close it up then you're going to repeat the same process to attach your strand reducer on the other side and make sure when you're do that you go ahead and start with a new piece of wildfire thread and leave a tail as you go into the work and tie that off and weave that in and then you're going to go ahead and attach the other side of your toggle clasp to the strand reducer and once you have all your threads tied off and woven in then you can just go ahead and make sure all your beads are laying flat by just putting it on a flat surface and pushing it flat sometimes it gets a little bunched up and that is how you make this open work style tila bead bracelet Go to Beadaholique.com for all of your beading supply needs!
