hi everyone welcome and thank you for joining us for our Facebook live class all about memory wire I'm Kat Sylvia and I'm here with Alexandra Smith she is our newest designer here at beadaholique.com i know you guys have missed a certain someone that we've had around here julie beam has left us but we're not too sad because she went up to the north to be with her family so we wish her all the best and we'd dearly dearly miss her maybe one day we'll get her back in for some more videos but for right now i'm kat and this is alexandra and we are really excited to show you all of the memory wire so if we love some of your questions we'll be addressing pretty much everything in the class and if you have additional questions leave them in the comments below and we'll answer you privately so i do want to point out that we have a giveaway as we always do with our facebook live classes so let me pull together what we are giving away today so in our giveaway we have two packages of memory wire here and these packages are really nice because they have the ring size they have two bracelet sizes and there's a necklace size as well so we're going to give you a silver and a gold you can have lots of fun experimenting and playing with that and then we're also going to be giving away these beads and these are czech fire polish and these are the Tweety beads and they are such a really fun colorful finish so you're going to get all of these colorful beads to play with and then we're going to give you some charms and some jump rings so that you can make your own bracelet so this is where we're going to start off and I want to not leave you without one very important tool and that is your memory wire cutters so this value is about $50 and we are really excited to give away to one lucky winner all you have to do to enter is leave a comment below and towards the end of our class today we'll be giving away live on the air so be sure to stay with us till the end alright so I'm going to set this aside and we are just going to dive right in and I'm going to start by showing you a project now this is all the memory wire and all the beautiful jewelry that we have but I want to start by showing you something that's really really traditional and it's going to be sort of this style of memory wire so if you want to follow me over here I'm going to talk my way through some of the tools and tricks that you'll need to build a memory wire bracelet now here I have the silver memory wire and this is round memory wire and you can see you get quite a few coils so it kind of has like a little slinky to it but it keeps its shape really nicely so the first thing that I want to do is I want to use my memory wire cutters you do not want to use traditional cutters because this will actually ruin your cutters because the memory wire is so strong you're going to want to use these really nice memory wire cutters now I'm going to use maybe about half of this so I'm just going to go down here and what I'm going to do is take my cutter place them in there and snip it off now I have a little bit less to work with you can keep it all together if you like it's kind of dealer's choice but I like to kind of make mine a little bit a little bit more manageable in my hand so now I'm going to take some really nice round pliers and I'm going to make my little loop at the end now there's one of two ways to do this you can add a little piece of blue painters tape to the end and that way it won't be sticky at all if you're not sure of how you want to load up your bracelet it's a nice little way to sort of not commit to that little loop at the end it's a way to load up your beads and then let's say you didn't want the ones that are like closest to the top you can just unstring those as opposed to unstring the whole coil if you decide that you don't like the way that it sits so that's a little trick but since I know how I'm going to like it I'm going to take my round nose plier and just place that little tip right in the end there and just spend inwards and just kind of work my wire around to give myself just a simple wire loop and that's all this is now personally I like to bend mine going inwards if you like to bend yours going outwards it is entirely your choice sometimes it depends and sometimes it is nice if you bend it outwards you can actually attach a charm to the end of it and that kind of forces that charm to sit on the outside of your beads but there's really no right or wrong you just kind of want to go with what your beads are telling you so I have over here my Czech fire polish and you can see I have two colors so I'm just going to do a very simple pattern of alternating so you can kind of see I have my looped end here and my open end here I'm going to take and just string on my beads very simple and just kind of wind them all the way down and they'll kind of make their way down there so I'm going to continue stringing my beads and I'm going to top it to Alexandra because she is going to show you some interesting stuff to do with a different type of memory wire Alex and I see a cute cat I'm so excited to be here it's just been a joy learning how to work here at beadaholique.com i Keys working with in the gunmetal and some copper and some gold and then there's the choker size in the flat and the round and then the multi packs like she showed you for the giveaway there's also which I was really excited to find down here the oval shape and I can just stick this on my wrist real quick and you can see how well it fits my issue with memory wire all these years has been that it didn't feel quite comfortable and I realized that this oval size fits long ways it's actually two and a half inches across for this size and then over here in the silver I have a three inch wide oval also so I was excited to discover those recently yeah I just want to show you some findings that also go with the flat memory wire we've got these eight millimeter flat backs that slide on and you can attach cabochon or a flat back Swarovski crystal and then these are some six millimeter cups prongs that fit the what are they called SS 29 size swoff beeshit on and so those just slip in there and then with the plastic coated pliers so I don't scratch the crystal I'm going to close down those prongs north-south-east-west loop that way if they don't um slip out the side as you're tightening those down probably hard to see Chris does a great job thank you Chris all right so once I have that on then it's like right on to the flat memory wire and that hole you can stack them like so you could put beads in between same with the the cabochon flat back so those are really fun design ideas and some other design ideas to do with memory wire this actually was my first project coming here and it was Julie great idea to wire wrap some delicas onto the flat memory wire and so the way I started it off was with the outward-facing loop and a crimp cover to hold the end of my wire and then there's actually a video on our site for this project just wire wrapping the delicas around and adding some really fun sparkly european-style large hole beads and so I did that in a three-round and also in the chokers and I also discovered a fun thing to do with the flat memory wire up here is a necklace I came up with it has a pendant wrap and a couple of connectors and I found that the memory wire works great for alternative uses like this where I added some craft wire on and just stuck at the tween wire so yeah I've been having a lot of fun with this then yesterday I realized we hadn't come up with any ring so I went ahead and put together this one and just has some check Oh beads and some large Toho's and then at the end then a couple of outward-facing loops I brought them together and wire wrapped on a bunch of little dangles to make a cluster so it makes a good summary so I love that idea of making the ring yeah I assignment sometimes memory wire rings are a little difficult to design just because you're always trying to figure out exactly what beads are going to fit and you know kind of how you want it to lay so there's a lot of chance to be really playful with that so it's nice to see it and I like the little bubbles on top it's very modern I am just adding my last little B I'm going to string it all the way down and let's see here um I'm not sure I like that gap so I'm going to add just a few more beads here and this is sort of how you build a memory wire bracelet you just kind of keep adding and see what you like sometimes you can do a different pattern color-blocking looks really fantastic my first memory I was telling ket my first memory of memory wire boutique and I worked at a bead store and the boss lady did this fabulous job of creating a big bowl full of memory wire bracelets that were made up of all her extra beads and so she took just a big bowl of beads and stuck them all on memory wire and it looked like candy like eye candy yeah yeah this was actually a great project to do if you kind of have some leftover beads not quite sure what to do with them this is a really great technique and its really nice and fun oh we have a question hi Jen okay she's asking how many loops would I suggest for a memory wire bracelet really up to you I'm going to go through some of the projects that we have here and you're going to see kind of how they stack up because we have all varying different ones I think the main thing to think about is how you want to wear it and what kinds of these you're using so let me finish up this and then I'll be right back to address that so I have finished my wrapping here and as you can see I have kind of matched it up where I have just a slight overlap and this is not worn so the way it sits it might wear a little wider or it might you know we're just a little bit loose so it kind of has a little adjustment there in terms of size so I like the way this is so I'm going to cut my memory wire here again using those memory wire cutters and a good rule of thumb is that you see how wide that memory wire cutter is from the edge of the bead to the edge of the wire that is where I want to try to cut that's a good gauge of that about a quarter of an inch so in case you're wondering where to cut it so I'm going to cut mine and it's going to be just about right there always err on the side of more and if you do cut a little less you can just always take off maybe one of those ending beads and that's always something good to kind of incorporate into your design should you need to so now all I'm going to do is do the very same thing and just take that wire loop and just bend it in just like so and I find that it's hard to close that last little loop because I want to get it nice and tight so my little trick is to take desert on foreign one pliers now these are just crimping pliers but I like these ones in particular because they give a nice little crimp and a nice little tightening so what I'm going to do is just sort of set it in there and sort of you know it gives you cram grips would agree that wire closed so it gives it a nice little grip something that I find that I can't always do with chain nose pliers but you can always kind of squeeze it in there and make sure that it fit so that is how easy and how quick it is to make a memory wire bracelet and these are just eight millimeter czech fire polish beads and we have a ton of color so they're really really fun to work with in fact when we give you our giveaway what we're going to give is these beads exactly so you'll be able to make one of these beautiful bracelets and this is kind of a fun little color-blocked one you can see it kind of changes from pink to blue to purple so just really fun and very nice and simple so with that giveaway you'll be able to make one of these bracelets okay so Jenn I want to talk to you a little bit about how many would so let's go ahead and dive into what we have on our table here so this loop there are several loops here actually just count them out for you so we have 1 2 3 4 5 ok so I have an overall overlapping about 7 loops here and these use 11 o Toho seed beads and that's so nice and delicate and that I think it's just a really nice look so it's not that heavy now take for example this one which uses the mushroom beads which have these really fun just little they kind of look like seein enemies or something they're just kind of bubbly I like them this is only technically - so it's a totally different look having them kind of work up like this now for example you have this one which is a little bit closer to what I did in my project here and this is five loops but look how much larger it is than the seven loops here so you can really kind of see a side-by-side comparison to how many loops you want how big your beads are and what your pattern is because you're going to always have just a little bit of variation I know that it might not be the clearest answer but the great thing is is that you can play with memory wire you can string it on you can take it off if you're not quite sure of the design it works up so fast and easy that it really is something that you know you're not going to get halfway through a bead weaving project and realize it's going to be the wrong size and you put hours and hours of work into it so that is my recommendation in terms of size is just to really just play with it and try to figure out sort of what fits for the design that you're going for so I want to point out another really neat thing about memory wire is that if you have a piece of cord like this cork it actually has a channel inside of it so I was able to string that memory wire all the way around and make these really fun little kits so this is a this is a project but we do have exclusive beadaholique.com this technique that is definitely a great way to kind of get your hands wet and try to figure it out and then you've kept this off with what exists now so this is a tierracast end cap so all I did was use super new glue and I added a bead cap to the end so there was no why are looping or anything that I needed to do with that memory wire lean finishing yeah it's nice it's clean and then if you just orient your loops correctly you can add nice little cute charms for the end we have another question hi Doris no not necessarily I I have here an example of yeah and that just slightly overlaps and so the way it fits on is like so so you know I can shake around I can I can move fine and it doesn't it doesn't fall off now if I pull it comes off real easily and so in this case my preference this was for the demo of the video that I did my preference for this bracelet in particular is three rounds so that it stays on a bit better I think you're right and then it also holds the beads really nicely in the middle so I think I think you're onto something maybe with multiple rounds keeping the bracelet on better yeah it just kind of brings me to these pieces over here and these are actually cuff so what I've done here is I've done multiple strands and used to hold beads to kind of keep those separated and this you can see is not even a full loop now when you have so great yeah so when you go to cut it you'll cut a little bit extra so you can make all your loops nice and flush but this is just a cuff so when you wear it that's nice and sturdy it's nice and sturdy and again like if you pull it hard enough hook it really hard it will come off you know but again like this is just sort of a nice easy wearable cuff and because the memory wire it does sort of come in nice and strong this is what you're going to kind of end up with and show us how you finish that off explain the head pin down the side sure so all I did was take an eye pin and just kind of strung it through added two seed beads strung it through the next loop added two seed beads and so on and so forth and then you just make a simple wire loop and that just kind of gives the whole thing a nice little structure on the end right and if we are multi stranding this how this is the best way to do it with yet Oh grippy thing so it so this is a bead stopper and this is my best friend so I was introduced to him on day one of jewelry making and we have been tight ever since so this is a great way to use and separate those strands because you have all these nice little grooves here so let's say you're using smaller beads that are going to be tighter together you can adjust and you can also end up using two of these if you want to do like a big cuff side-by-side but it keeps them nice and separated and you can see here that I didn't finish off those loops but you always could if you were afraid that your beads would come off the end but the bead stopper is actually on there nice and strong you can sort of just focus on keeping your strands separate and stringing them together now this is a great idea especially when you're making a two strands memory wire coil and I'll show you what that looks like over here so I have two examples one is here and this is a full coil but as you can see it's actually cases yeah so and I didn't need anything on the ends because I just had that two whole pyramid bead so I just did that and it kind of is it's a totally different look from the regular memory wire but you also get to use all those two whole three whole four holds seventeen whole beads that we have because I feel like we have a lot of those beads and this is a great way to incorporate them into a stringing project in case you're not too keen on bead weaving or you know not at that level yet which is totally fine this is a great introduction into those beads now when it all comes together it actually looks very similar to yes great stone but you have here one that is just the double and then had a really nice simple small cut yeah and this I love because if you wanted to do different colors you could always just kind of stack them up I am always talking about my stackable jewelry so I love anything that you can stack and I just want to point out this this is a little sweet pea these aren't live on our website just yet but these are the Czech glass cabochon to whole beads and these are just so fun they just look like go candy dots I just love them and I just love the beautiful brushed finish it gives so I did a one of these as an example and as well on the cleaner there's the infinity no these are actually just 1102 okay beads yeah yeah if I just wanted to bring a little bit of gold to they're a little home modernity and I just I love the way that just kind of turns out moves look so cute we have another question oh hi Shelley yeah yeah during this absolutely there are plenty of other materials that work with this the beautiful thing about this I'm sorry I don't have a scrap available but when you do a cross-section of it there's actually a little tube inside of it that you feed the memory wire through so it's designed for this yeah so I think it's designed that you can either string something through it or use it with a like beading wire but I love the way the memory wire works with it you can use anything I would recommend something that would have a channel to it so that you kind of easy to treat it or the faux leather x' will have that where they're hollow on the inside yep yeah so as long as you're working at something like that I know we have a rubber cord that has a little channel on the inside now we do have the cork cord that is ten millimeters this is six millimeters the ten millimeter one does not have a channel through it it's solid I believe it I want to say it's cotton on the inside so but it's nicely packed and it's really really tight so you can actually can't get anything through there so but as long as there's a channel absolutely it's a great technique to use so can you tell us about this one which is kind of a similar technique to what I did with mine but I want you to explain this yeah this is actually sort of the hybrid between the prong settings here which you can kind of do individually and the wire wrappings that Alexander did with the seed beads now this is cup chain so all those little cups are already done in there for you so all you're doing as you're working is you're wrapping your wire around and you're wrapping in between the cups of that cup chain so just when I get a nice shot of the back here so you can kind of see how it just feeds over the back and it's actually nice and smooth it's I I always look for jewelry that would be rough on the inside because that's not wearable and that's not fun and I also find that sometimes it's very difficult to sell if you're looking to sell your pieces so this is actually very nice and flush on the inside because I not sure what kind of wire this is and I feel terrible but something tells me this is about 26 gauge wire okay so because you can use something that's really fun because you are doing a nice tight wire wrapping on it now this is one of those examples I just want to show you there's a wire loop on this one that faces the outside and you can see how it helps that little anchor ankle oh my goodness anchor charm fit on the outside of the piece because if it was wrapped in it would probably fall to the inside so this is one of those times where you just kind of want to know what you're attaching to it if you're attaching that charm whether it's a ways out for loop in goes in this one it definitely serves the piece to have that loose going outwards and it creates a nice little flush ending to it because imagine that loop was coming inwards you wouldn't be able to it would be sticking in from where the cup chain and I just feel like it's a little more decorative a little more little more flare to go at I'm an outward facing living area I'm introducing these kind of residents speaking of endings can't tell us about these these blew my mind yesterday oh yeah me yes these are scrimp so you can actually use these not just as memory wire but I will say that if you do want to use these as memory wire it does only work with the round memory wire unfortunately we don't have scrimps that work with the flat memory wire so basically how these work is they are nice little end cap and I'm not sure if you can see because it's kind of the idea is to let you not see but there is a little teeny tiny screw screw motivating right there so I'm going to show you how to attach these actually so let me cut off just a little scrap of memory wire just to show you again making sure to use those memory wire cutters alright I have a piece of round memory wire here some things out of my way sorry okay so I am going to show you on the gold one so that you can hopefully see it so here is one of the scrimps and this matches this one here and it's nice and flat and flush on the bottom so I'm going to show you this one first so here is the tool for the screen and very similar to a screwdriver that you would get in like an eyeglass kit or something like that so it has that flat screwdriver so what I'm going to do is just sort of place it on okay got to make sure you unscrew it first so let's find my 30s work I just could not believe this it does give you a nice finish to it yeah so all I'm doing and I'll kind of describe it so I'm not sure if you can really see I'm trying to let our cameraman catch it okay so all I've done is unscrew but not taking out that little screw there it does come all the way out though it says yeah it does small the way out so make sure that you don't lose it and don't have the dog or cat nearby now just take your I've got it on there to the end and I'm going to take that screwdriver and just very simply just screw it back up it's that easy now this does become a little bit more difficult when you have beads on there so you do want to just be really careful and make sure that you definitely have a nice bead stopper on the end because if there were beads here I would just be pushing them right off so it gives a nice clean slick finish to the end of your memory wire and it's that easy we have another question and I'm going to prep the other one while work while I'm talking oh and we'll get your questions a second um Susan I'm not quite sure I understand your question if you could just clarify loops across from you to UM 15 you linking I'm looking at this one which is kind of the closest that we have of just two loops that are you know slightly overlapping but probably come come flush when you're wearing it so I mean my vehicle ever idea to try to to hook them that we've not tried that before and I think it would bend the wire in the wrong direction so yeah I would recommend like I in this bracelet here you know they do kind of overlap a little bit but for example this is why I always say to kind of like test out your work and you know Julie and I did a class about how to sell your jewelry and this is sort of one of those things where it's like it's really difficult to try to tell people the sizing for things but one thing is let me wrap this around my wrist and my wrist is about six-and-a-half inches just to give you a little bit of a gauge but you see how that opens up a little bit now it's not stressed and it's not hurting my wrist there's no pinching or anything like that but it does open those up a little bit so maybe if I wanted to redo this I would you know I could always put that piece of tape there that I'm not sure I want to finish it yet put it on test it out and go you know I think I want to finish it so that it comes at least to here so maybe I need three more beads so you can kind of do it that way if you're talking about getting your loops sort of directly across from each other but also I think when you would wear this this would sort of be your underneath side so you have three full loops on top if that's what you're talking about Susan if I didn't answer that correctly leave another comment and now I'll try to explain a little bit more all right and take that up boy I think yeah but I'm aware that safe now I'm going to double take on this one thinking oh is that a larger gauge of memory wire but in fact it isn't so tell us how you made that one yes these are actually noodle beads and this is one of our exclusive b2 holy cats that you can get so when you get the kit all of your memory wire will be pre-cut for you so you don't have to worry just yet about buying those memory wire cutters but what's really nice is these just kind of stack up and I like the space that sort of create very modern in that way so we have this purple and gold version we also have a crystal and silver version that is on our stand over there and I'll show you that in just a moment but yeah these are just noodle beads and you just do your three little beads it'll be three little beads a little bit and you just repeat that pattern all the way around and it stacks up really nicely for you so that's one of our kids if you're interested in that so let me show you just really quickly this other crimp or I'm sorry the other scrimp and this one is a little bit different and this I actually recommend not for memory wire I actually recommend this for beading wire because you can actually pull the loop through it so this one had a nice stopper on the end but this one actually you can flip all the way over so it's a little bit different so what you're going to need to do is be very careful so that you don't have any sticking out to poke yourself is make sure that it's nice and tight on the ends there and then just screw that on down very the same way screams screams - screams - screams all right let me just kind of Susa I know my hand is totally in the way all right there we go so yep very simple just a little tiny screwdriver and your little scrimp and if you're doing this for an actual project I definitely recommend putting that little screw on the inside so you kind of don't see it you can hide it a little bit so that is one way to do that and then I also want to show you really quickly we have these other end caps and these actually use glue so I have again the round memory wire and I'm going to use a little gold one here and this is basically it looks like a bead that is only half drilled through so there's a little hole there so we're going on was like let me see home stairs there's a little teeny tiny holder and all you need to do is be very careful and add a little bit of glue and just pop that on to the end so that is another way to surface area but I'm I would feel a little nervous about that does the e6000 work the best or what I was doing I was just going to say how the e6000 is going to be the because I actually signs the e6000 is the easiest to clean up so if you do have a little extra gloopy you can leave it and then you can just kind of pick it off with your fingers it'll kind of come out almost like a hot glue so it will kind of have that consistency to it so but that's a nice little and we're talking toothpick application there I would use a scrap of wire actually because that's what's going to kind of get that right have a glue in there and like I said if you get a little extra you can just kind of let it dry for a little bit actually a little bit you dip the end of the memory wire slightly low and tuck it on that's a great idea yeah and that eliminates the scrap of wire all right we have another question hi Elizabeth thank you for joining us stand a number of round like coil I assume um again it's kind of up to you sweetie I I like to do at least three because I like I was when I was wearing this one I like to see a nice pattern sort of developed so you can kind of see like how it would look with two and then I have this one here that is six on the top so again like very very different looks I don't think there's necessarily a standard as far as a design standard goes I generally work with the rule of odds so I do three or five generally if I can i that is just personal preference for me but I also think that when I see these types of things in stores like this piece to me with a tortoise shell is very agile anthropology you know and tailor that kind of style and I feel like you would see something that is about this with in a store like that so if you're kind of gauging it on what you might see out in the real world that's a good gauge for you right now Allah says was talked about small beads do you think these are small because these look larger to me oh I'm sorry Dean all these are exact beats but maybe what I'm seeing in between is more what she was talking yeah so yeah like I said these are eleven Oh seed beads so these are quite tiny I really um I'm trying to see if we have oh you know I do actually oh the neon one football yep football okay I love me some forth so these are a little bit smaller so these ones actually here these are four millimeters so if you can kind of see they're next to some sixes but you can see that four is a lot tighter on this one and this one kind of comes out just a little bit further so I I don't know it really it really depends on your design aesthetic I would say probably three to five is is a good gauge and I think that actually would probably fit most people if you're looking to sell them especially oh we have another question hi Amy sure yes so I'm not going to ruin my cutters but I will show you the memory wire cutters here they are really super super thick and let me pick up my other my loon sturm cutters here and you can see how fine the cutting point is on these and how different they are kind of when you look down the nose of them so these ones are going to be used for cutting more of your head pins iTunes if you're working with regular wire the memory wire cutters are going to have that strength and I promise you you will not be able to cut that memory wire with your regular flush cutters so that is really the only difference it's the connection point so let me kind of open up my flush cutters here and you see how thin that connection point is as to where it is actually snipping it and then on the memory wire you see how thick that connection point is between those two so that's really the main difference and this you also get a little bit more of that grip to really cut that wire because it helps stabilize it because you can see that these are a little bit wider so you stabilize that wire so it wouldn't kink or bent now speaking about that we were talking about what kind of around those pliers are best to use for curving the loops on this wire - because it is super super stiff stuff if stainless steel plated so it's not going anywhere once you get the loop on I mean it's just so I love the ergonomic handles and I was just looking at the size of this screw we were talking about on the round nose plier it's got a similar connection put there cause it's usually it's the fulcrum fulcrum right okay and you just want to make sure that this is a super-strong tool for so this kind of works yeah sometimes you know there are some some tiny tools a lot of the times if you're using like a travel set it might not give you the strength that you need to make that simple wire loop let me show you one more time just kind of how that works and you'll notice that the wire here I'm actually I'm working really hard to bend it now the gauge of the wire is thin but this is stainless steel underneath so you're really bending that steel so you're like pushing it you can kind of see my finger turn a little bit white as I keep the other side but you're really wanting a nice strong plier to do this work now just to compare this is a flat memory wire and I'd like to do a loop oh yeah where I take it more towards the back of the tool actually to get a better grip and really send it like so and either I can take like this or with flat pliers to to get it flush mm-hmm that's that one yeah especially with that flat member wire because it is going to be that thicker wire you definitely want to use good good good tools for for these guys they don't have to be super expensive but just make sure that you're using something that's really comfortable in your hand because you're going to need to apply a good amount of pressure to get that nice little B happening for you alright so I want to call back a little bit to the giveaway so if you're just joining us we have a giveaway for today and this is a $50 value so you're going to get those beautiful memory wire cutters you're going to get a set of silver and gold memory wire and these have a necklace to bracelet sizes and a ring size so lots of fun to play with and lots of experimental wire if you're new to this this is a great little package get and then we're also going to be giving away the fire polish Czech beads and then we'll need are these looks like these are eight millimeters and you're going to be able to make some of those bracelets that I showed you a little bit earlier and I also included just some fun charms and jump rings for you to play around with and add a little little sparkle a little fun to your projects but yeah you can definitely choose more pardon me more beads and more charms and just you know memory wire until your heart's content these are great for hanging off of the end loops and you can also put beads onto head pins and make little beaded dangles at the NC oh yeah that's always nice and fun if you just want kind of something just to finish it off a little bit a nice little bicone especially if you're using Swarovski crystal or something like that so yep so all you have to do to win is just leave a comment below what if they were you're tuning in from just say hello ask a question whatever it is any comment counts so go ahead and do that and we'll be giving this away in just a little bit so make those comments perfect meanwhile you have a couple of other things to show us over here that you've done this is great yes so one of the main questions that we always get is sizing and clearly we've had a lot of questions today about how many loops and all summer stuff so I discovered a way and I'm very excited about this to make a memory wire bracelet into more of a bangle now this does have a clasp so it doesn't technically mean it's a bangle but these three loops here are memory wire and all I did was attached them to a tube clasp parenting it so that if you're worried that it's going to fall off or something but you want that look and I just I love this it's so nice and sleek this is these are gemstones so you know you're going to have a little nice little weight to these what's exciting is there are so many different types of multi chain clasps you could do with that and make the ticker oh yeah and yeah lots of fun yeah you can make a nice long cuff we do have these that are a little bit wider I think we go up to 7 loops I hope I'm not incorrect there but just let you know these are four millimeter beads so you can kind of see how they sit next to each other with the spacing of the loops there Spacey's also be funded separator bars I know you've using yeah what's I hold beads but actually separate separate arrives will be really pretty yeah so there's an example of that right here so these are nice little bars and they just sort of separate those beads nannies elated stable yeah and this is exactly how it was finished you know there's again like that sort of idea of using a head pin to go through with a couple of beads just to kind of finish it off and then there's that extra spacer bead right there so you do kind of get a little bit more structure by doing it this way and this way you get a little bit more flexibility so it's just another kind of different way to end your memory wire so it doesn't have to be that coil it doesn't have to have that look if you want something that's nice and streamlined and the nice pattern going around I just wanted to do just a nice pretty gold with that dark blue stem I like how you combined down with glass if you don't see that variable oh this is actually different phenotype it mm-hmm no yeah all right now let's also check fine polish are you sure I'm sure I definitely wanted to use gemstones because another question that we get all the time is what fits on memory wire and you just have to kind of gauge the size of the hole but these are four millimeters and I wanted to make sure that I could get those little gemstones because gemstones and pearls are the ones where you always have to be really careful about the size of the hole that you're coming right is usually dark in the hand or this isn't pyrite or some shit no it's gold lady yes it's cool to play dough out of that so and we also have like rainbow effects as well oh I'm not tight okay and now what about the earrings tell us about your ears we have our question and I'll write the earrings hi Aaron Shaw she was our previous winner from our last class so hello again oh okay so let me address that really quick so I have here we have gold and silver and we have gold and silver and the choker in the flat memory wire and the round memory wire and then for the bracelet size we have this black which is kind of like a metal we also have the copper plated and of course we have the gold and silver and then in our multi packs here we have the silver the gold the copper and the black so we have all four of those colors here and then for the flat memory wire and for the Rings we have gold and silver for the flat ring and gold and silver for the round ring and these are all plated stainless steel hmm and we have the gold and silver now this is the larger size of the silver but we also have the largest size of the gold and the smaller size of the gold and we also have the smaller size of the silver so I think I think I got everything in there yes yes so these are three inches wide two and a half inches wide and these are two and a quarter inches round in diameter yep and these are our most popular ones here but yes definitely feel free to experiment and also just kind of figure out what you're actually going to see of that memory wire to kind of gauge what color you might want to use but yeah we have lots of variety the copper is actually very very pretty you can kind of combine it with some rose gold tones if you want to draw that in so it's really actually oh and you're thinking of mixed metals yeah this one has hired me on this necklace was mixing to gunmetal with the gold and how it started was I had these three crystals on my desk I knew I needed to do something with them I wanted them on a loop and all of a sudden I saw the wire and thought big go on there so then I started mixing metals with it to do that and that's such a great use of memory where I'm making components as opposed to making a bracelet or making a necklace you know I mean you she made a necklace but you know you kind of form it into a little component so you know that you're getting a nice strong wire so if you want what you would buy it your own chain link that way now I did chain link oh I think Alexander thought I having a video soon change yeah another question question for Alexander's children how can you make it secure so you're not afraid to tell Emma I would say for that when I put this on you just see where it falls on my neck like so make it longer just make it so that the loops actually come full around the neck toward not so where you could see but just so that you're more comfortable with that that fastening because as I wear it it's about I'd say it's over left it up that much and probably wise would be to make it so that it's overlapped more so you wouldn't have to maybe overlap in the front but it could give you some extra security and I suppose you can make chokers that wrap multiple times around the neck they might be a little trickier to wear ooh but what about if you did a necklace Cup of choker necklace ah I think we're good I don't have any video soon so yeah that's actually that's a great idea yeah because then it can kind of sit flush where it needs to be and I think as long as you're not tugging on it it should actually stay pretty well because I think once it's sort of behind your neck it'll kind of keep that shape so it won't want to open up that's the beautiful thing about memory wire is that it's not flimsy so as long as you're not actually choking yourself I think it actually should fit quite nicely the best way I would say to experiment with the size is to again take some of that blue painters tape and tape off like a mark and it ends and what you can try to do is like size it around the front and see like how far it's going and before you cut anything so you don't want to waste it actually clasp it I mean you could fit it to where you have the right size round to where you can put a clasp on the back and then it you know keeps the shape it's still a member wire necklace but it's got the security you might be looking for with that well because I wonder if you could actually do something imagine that this was that flat necklace but if I knew that I wanted to make it you know smaller I could actually add what we call on a chain extender or a necklace extender and just have on that loop put a jump ring in a lobster clasp and have that necklace chain so you actually have a little piece of chain in the back so you actually get that a little in the front but this is the front as you were wearing it you could actually add a little clasp in the back and it would either bring it closer together or if you were wondering if it was too big you could cut it a little bit more open and then use a little bit less and create sort of a chain in the back so you kind of get the same look but with with cheese and adding the class would simply be a matter of onto your rothmeyer loop put a jump ring your claps and on the opposite side it could either attach right onto your wire loop or on to another jump ring you've attached yeah but I like the idea of a chain extension yeah because they're definitely inspiring us so yeah I know I was like cool we gotta go I gotta go make projects we have another question okay yeah well yesterday you know this necklace actually came about also because I was looking to use the the ring side and I couldn't quite figure out how to make something comfortable so I'm glad because that inspiration came for that but then yesterday when I was working with this ring size flat memory wire I was glad to discover just the right size larger hold feed beads that could accommodate that of course you can use the just a regular round ring sides to and then either have it so that it opens and closes or fasten the two loops like I did with a cluster I try to get first without the cluster just to fit my my finger like so and it really wasn't very uncomfortable to have loops on the bottom didn't bother me I didn't wear it all day to find out but I think probably decoratively and functionally you want the loops coming up top to do stuff with no yeah this was really my only experience with ring memory wire so far yeah I'm just going to take the gold memory wire here and this is the round ring and what I'm going to do I'm going to cut off a couple of loops because I feel like it's kind of hard to sort of extrapolate what that might look like so let me cut off cut off it's there right like how would it work to do a multi mm-hmm round yeah so this is this is about for loop will be tricky to get the beads on I would imagine well as where we could use your bead stopper to separate it out and actually create a like ring cuff I don't know I'm curious about that yeah you know I I bet you could I would be concerned so just I know for from my personal use a ring cuff I that I would be worried about losing just because I'm so I catch something yeah I use my hand so much more than I would use my neck but yeah so this is it's really nice and tiny and what's really great is if you do want to use like the smaller seed beads and just kind of create a nice little coil there or one of the more popular things that I see now is those rings that come just about halfway down so you could actually make something very cute with that as well you just have to bend it in and again using Alexandra's technique of creating those loops to bring it together to actually form a single ring if you're not going to be using multiple loops right but it is yeah after all the sides that way exactly but it is actually very thin if you just look at just one coil of it so but here's four and you can even see how thin that might be to where we have another question hi sherry multiple strands of memory wire to classes well and this one I did I just did the the same loops and I bent the loops inwards to give it that flush over the top I do have let's say if you're talking about these ones I I wouldn't recommend using a class just because I I wouldn't think you'd have to but that is how I sort of finished off this one and this is those this is that multi stranded memory wire but this is the coil so I don't think you would quite need to do that the other option that you can do is to add on some of the scrimps or anything to the end and you can go through actually if you wanted to here's the other thing that could be used with these scrimps especially the ones actually only the ones that you can pull all the way through is you could actually use this to end your beads and still make a wire loop if you wanted sort of that nice little ending technique and nature that - it's not functional it's more decorative exactly but you know it these silver ones especially given those little sparkle days yeah it's a nice little finishing yeah they serve the same purpose as like a crimp cover you know as opposed to just a crimp bead or crimp tube just kind of adds a little little decoration there but yeah that's all I did for these ones is I just had a simple wire loop and just kind of attached them all together so that's how you would do it I would if you wanted to add some sort of a lobster clasp or something I would just make sure your lips are oriented correctly add on your lobster and add on maybe a closed jump ring and then you can clasp it together another question tree hi Tracy you need a new millimeter gauge I I want to say this is 18 PP I will I will send you the tutorial for this one I unfortunately I don't know offhand I feel terrible that I don't but I want to say this is 18 pp for this that fits this memory wire because you can see how nice and tight it actually is so I will answer you in the comments below and just make sure that I get that to you sorry I don't know offhand bad designer bad designer the last thing you know is looking at this and still want to hear about your earring yes this would make a lovely URI hmm you have a cup chain so it was something else to do with memory wire and these are earrings so you know if you love some hoop earrings and I look these are these are my Saturday night earring this is nice and they have a nice little bounce to them and one thing that I am always worried about actually and I don't know if anybody else has this strange fear I don't like things that are closed loops because I am always so worried that someone is going to pull them out of my ear it is the weirdest thing and I know it's silly but I love you because I can actually make an open hoop and it can stay it nice and hoop and I'm kind of pulling on it and you know it just goes right back to where it is so this is one way to do this and I do have a video tutorial showing you how to get this look and then I also made these little swinging Crescent hearing and the I actually came up with because I had some scraps of memory wire so I just made some simple wire loops and strung them and just made three and I kind of graduated them to the outside so you get like this nice little fun curved shape what's something else you can do with memory wire and especially if you have little scrappy use left over you can do little things like this or you can do something that Alexandra did and her necklace which was sort of make those little pieces to kind of scallop together which is a different technique so very similar just again with those simple wire loops and one thing that I want to point out on these earrings is actually the orientation of the hoop of the earring and I'm actually going to take it out so you can kind of see so they stop swinging around this particular earring finding is really unique because usually that loop right there is twisted to the side so it goes straight up and down but we do sell earrings that have that loop that comes out to the front because otherwise I'd have to twist something or I'd have to move my loop around but this makes it nice and sleek and finished so that's something that's really unique to this particular earring finding and I'll list the tutorial below so you guys can see where to get that of course it's at beadaholique.com but I will show you exactly the page and exactly were two good finals because it really needs so make your last comments to win the giveaway again it is a $50 value and we will ship it out to you so you can get started on your memory wire projects but go ahead and leave your left few comments right now and then in a few minutes we're going to choose the winner so if you have any other questions let us know other than that I really like working with memory wire I'm you know even today like you guys have given us some great ideas to work with and I'm really excited to explore more within any time we can get in some new beads or a new style it's a great way to showcase some some older items as well because I think I'm always looking for new ways to showcase these large-hole beads because I have given a few to my mom and she doesn't wear her big big bracelet all the time but I know that she likes to put those on a necklace or any other type of earring or something like that I think they fit so well between the Gullu yeah I'm holding nicely and it just it's I like user they're nice and them I see I mean you know this is very glittery and it's sort of on a effective and that's what I think I'm always looking for and the jewelry that I design and the jewelry that I like to create is what can I find that is going to be unexpected and just different create opportunities spending also these are just so simple for like parties you know you don't have to know how to make jewelry you just pick the beads on yeah and so it can be super simple or you can get more complicated with it yeah and I hope that it is funny wherever you are it is pouring rain here in Los Angeles so I'm sure you're getting a little bit of that rain sign and probably what is that yeah it's been pouring rain here kind of all day but we are very excited to be inside cozy and beating now anything else you want to say I like the other so happy if you're part of this team I mean these guys will tell you that I can I have to sit on my hands a lot of times and not bounce off
