These bead embroidered earrings feature a picot edge that adds a vintage feel to these beautiful black and red cameos.
Instructions

Note: Components and tools listed within this INSTRUCTIONS box and the printer-friendly PDF, if available, may have been discontinued since this project was published. Refer to the PURCHASE COMPONENTS and TOOLS AND OTHER SUPPLIES sections for current availability.

By following the instructions below, you will make one earring. Repeat all instructions to make the second earring.
  1. Please watch the Video: How to Hide an Earring Post in Bead Embroidery. To begin, you will be make a tiny hole in beading foundation and poke the earring post through it.
  2. Please watch the Video: How to Glue a Cabochon for Bead Embroidery. Glue the cameo on to the piece of beading foundation with the earring post through it using Crafter's Pick. Make sure that the cameo is situated so that the earring post is towards the top of the Cameo. (See photo for reference) Let Dry.
  3. Please watch the Video: How to Backstitch in Bead Embroidery. Using black 11/0 seed beads, back stitch one row around the cameo.
  4. Please watch the Video: How to Create a Bezel Row in Bead Embroidery. Using the black 15/0 seed beads make a bezel row.
  5. Please watch the Video: How to Trim the Foundation and Attach the Backing. You will be cutting off the excess beading foundation and using Crafter's Pick to glue the backing to the piece and trim the backing.
  6. Please watch our video: How to Bead Embroider a Picot Edge. Using black 15/0 seed beads and the red 11/0 seed beads make a picot edge.
  7. Attach the earring back and you are all done.
