Great looking but not very comfortable

I have bought several packages of these ear antique brass wires over time. They look great with my rustic, artisan earrings. But I have mixed feelings about them because I don't find them very comfortable to wear and the base metal on these irritates my ears (and I'm not particularly sensitive to other ear wires.) I wish I could find something similar that feels good on.
