Let me tell you upfront: most of the time I've found a lot of beading boards to be pretty samey. They do their job and they do their job well - hold beads and other components and measure wire, string or cord. But I need to give props to this board in particular for something that most other boards simply don't have: a lid. If you have pets or kids who enjoy playing with your shiny shiny beads, or if you're like me and are just plain ol' clumsy, this is for you. Like Laura said in her review you need to be careful when opening and closing the lid on the board but otherwise? No board beats this board.

This is a nice beading board, and awesome for the fact that it has a lid, since I think a lot of us have cats who like to "help" when we walk away from the workbench. You do need to be gentle when removing the lid if your beads are lightweight, since it has dimples to give a positive lock. The lid protects from basic accidents, but you still need to keep the board level, of course.
