The Redwoods Earrings

1. Begin this project by making a swatch of chevron peyote to fit inside the hoop earring. You will be creating a swatch that is 3 columns wide and 40 rows long. To do this, please follow the pattern on this page and watch the video: How to Flat Odd-Count Peyote Stitch. Start with 6 feet of thread on your needle.
2. You will also need to see the video: How to Tie Off and Add New Thread in Peyote Bead Weaving. This video will show you how to tie off and weave in your thread tails.
3. Once you have your swatch of bead weaving made and the ends all tied off and woven in, you will need to glue it into the earring finding.
4. Take a toothpick or small piece of wire to use as an applicator, open your glue, and spread glue into the channel of the earring hoop. Make sure to spread it across the entire inset channel surface. You want good glue coverage but you do not want it to be too thick or lumpy that it will seep through your bead weaving. Lay your piece of bead weaving into the glue in the channel of the earring hoop. Press into place. Let dry.
5. Let your earring dry overnight and then enjoy wearing them!
