Looking Ahead to Spring!

It’s late January and I feel “done” with winter and am ready for spring! I know we still have two months of winter to go but my cold toes are ready for some warm weather and I am longing to wear flowy dresses again. I don’t know about you, but I am definitely starting to think about designing with cheerful colors with happy undertones and fun flowery designs.

I love it that Valentine’s Day is in just three weeks. It’s almost like a transition holiday that helps us gracefully go from one season to the next. With Valentine’s Day you can design with pinks, purples, and reds. There is a lightness to it and a fun playfulness. After Valentine’s Day, we can officially declare that spring is just around the corner.  

I have started to make my own shopping list for supplies that I want to work into designs this spring. I thought it would be fun to share!

Lots of Magenta! Pantone’s color of the year is Viva Magenta! This color is so bright and vibrant; it truly is a joy to design with! A tip to remember is that you are trying to capture the essence of feel of magenta and do not need to necessarily just use items titled "magenta" - for instance, the PRESTIGE pearl color of Mulberry Pink and the PRESTIGE crystal color of Fuchsia are very close to magenta and perfect to design with this season.
