By following the instructions below, you will make one earring. Repeat all instructions to make the second earring. You will need a clean work surface, a paint brush, scrap of wax paper or plastic bag and a piece of wire or applicator for your glue. Watch the video on
How to Use the Magical Pick Tool for this project.
- You will start by making your earring focal with two Vintaj arte metal stencil pendants. Using your applicator/wire, apply a thin line of glue onto the side of one of your stampings. Lay your stamping flat on your non-stick surface (such as a plastic bag or wax paper). Then quickly take your second stamping and align it right beside the first stamping, gently gluing the two together. Refer to the photo.
- Wait an hour until your glue is dry enough to work with. Now take your gold patina and add a few drops onto a scrap of paper. Using your paint brush, dab the two center portions of your stampings. Use as much patina as you would like. I only made the centers of my stampings gold.
- Set aside to dry and wash your brush immediately.
- Once your stampings are dry, you will begin adding your rhinestones.
- Using your applicator/wire, make a small line of glue along the bottom portion of one of your stampings, about 1/2 an inch at a time. It is into the line of glue that you will one by one place your rhinestones using the Magical Pick. Start with outlining the bottom and center portions of your pendants in Black Diamond and the top outline in Metallic Rose. Then add four Rose Gold rhinestones to the middle center and one at the top. Please refer to the photo to emulate my exact design.
- Set your stampings aside to fully dry.
- Cut two lengths of 1" long chain using your flush cutters. Remember to snip off any broken links.
- Open up a jump ring with your chain nose pliers and slip onto it the last link of both lengths of chain. Slip on your earring hook as well. Close the jump ring.
- Open up two more jump rings and slide on the last links of the opposite sides of your lengths of chain. Also slide your jump rings onto the small holes on top of your stencil pendants (one jump ring for each pendant). Close the jump rings.
- Your earring is now ready!
