Retired - Butterflies and Birds Bottle Cap Bracelet

PROJECT B608
Designer: Julie Bean
Skill Level: Beginner
Funky and eclectic, this bottle cap bracelet is sure to attract lots of raves. The shiny silver of the bottle cap shows through the colorful bird and butterfly transfers which are overlaid on top.
Instructions
  1. Flatten out 5 bottle caps using a steel bench block and rubber mallet. Using your metal hole punch, punch 2 holes next to each other on one side of each cap, along the "ruffles" and then 2 more holes on the opposite side of the bottle cap. Line the holes up so that they are directly across from each other.
  2. Take your colorful silhouette transfer sheet and cut out 5 images in 1" diameter circles each. I used a 1" metal blank and traced around it to get the exact size. There are also hole punches out there that are this size as well.
  3. Apply the transfer to the bottle cap back. Smooth out any air bubbles with your fingers.
  4. Using a paint brush, paint a layer of Nunn Sealant over the top of the transfers. Let dry.
  5. Line up your bottle caps so that they are in the order you want on the finished bracelet. Line it up so that the holes are next to each other. Open an 8mm jump ring and connect two of the bottle caps together through their side holes. Repeat with all the bottle caps and their holes, connecting them together. Also make sure to put an 8mm jump ring into the holes on the end bottle caps.
  6. Open a 6mm jump ring and link it through the two 8mm jump rings on one side of your bracelet. Also link onto the jump ring the loop at the bottom of your lobster clasp. Close the jump ring.
  7. On the other side of the bracelet, again open a 6mm jump ring and link it to the two already secured 8mm jump rings. Before closing, also link another 8mm jump ring to the 6mm jump ring. Close the jump ring.
