- Carefully bend the silver plated filigree (PND-5710) piece in half using the 5mm side of a pair of bail making pliers (XTL-0031).
- Insert the pointed end of the Austrian crystal Jet Black heart (SWBB-3737) down into the center of the bent filigree piece (see photo).
- Cut 3 pieces of wire 2 and 1/4 inches in length each. Set aside.
- Cut 3 pieces of wire 3/4 of an inch in length. You will use this for the "barb".
- To make the barb, take the tip of a pair of round nose pliers and wrap the 3/4 of an inch wire around in opposite directions twice. The backside of the barb will have 3 wraps. You will make 3 barbs and set aside.
- Now take one of the pieces of 2 and 1/4 inch wire and make a "U" shape by bending the wire in half. Slide on one of the "barbs" until it sits directly inside the "U". Take a pair of chain nose pliers and squeeze the very center of the barb to keep it in place.
- Insert both ends of the wire through the doubled-up hole in the brass filigree piece above and to the right of the heart. (The "barb" will now be on the front of the pendant, it doesn't matter which side you choose to make the front).
- Cross the two sides of the wire over each other in an "x" pattern and twist the wire twice (like a twist tie on a loaf of bread). This will be the back of the pendant. Bend the twisted wire over and hide it inside the hole that you just threaded it through. Repeat for the other side.
- Take the last piece of wire with the barb and thread both wires through the hole of the heart. To secure the wire you will thread one of the pieces of wire up through the center of the filigree and out to one side. Bring the wire over the top of the filigree and back around to the back. You will anchor this piece of wire back through the center (please see photo for more detail) cut off excess wire. Repeat for the other side.
- Cut the chain until it measures 18 inches in length. Thread it through the side of the filigree under the wires you placed on earlier (see photo).
- Open one of the jump rings (FJR-6000). Link the jump ring through one of the end links of chain and the t-bar of the toggle clasp (FCL-7707). Close jump ring.
- Open the other jump ring. Link the jump ring through the other end link of chain and the loop of the toggle clasp. Close jump ring. You're finished!
