This brick stitch cat face is as sweet as can be in Miyuki Delica beads, dangling from a delicate chain.

Instructions

These instructions will make an 18 inch necklace. For a longer or shorter necklace, adjust the length of chain used.

Begin by watching our video on how to do brick stitch bead weaving. You will be following the weaving pattern shown in the photo, starting with one side of the cat's face and building up toward the other side.
Based on the technique shown in the video, cut a 5 foot length of thread and thread a size 12 needle. Begin by weaving a ladder stitch base row, beginning with the tip of the cat's ear and following the colors in the first row of beads.
As you stitch the cat face, you will need to make brick stitch increases and decreases according to the pattern.
Once you've finished your beading, tie off and weave in your thread tails.
Using flush cutters, cut two 8 1/2 inch lengths of chain.
Open a jump ring and slide it through the single black Delica bead at the tip of one of the cat's ears. Also slide on the first link of one piece of chain. Close the jump ring.
Repeat step 6 with another jump ring and the second piece of chain on the cat's other ear.
Open another jump ring and slide on the loop of your clasp. Then slide on the last link of chain on one side of the necklace. Close the jump ring.
Open another jump ring and slide on the last link of chain on the other side of the necklace. Close the jump ring.
